Gulia Huertas
"If it was easy, you wouldn't need practice"
Training: Chicago yoga Center
Schedule: to be announced...
When Gulia tells her students they can heal their bodies and feel terrific with yoga, she speaks from the heart and from experience. Once plagued by back injuries, Gulia not only felt healthier by practicing yoga but compelled to make it her life’s work and share the secret she found. Gulia opened P.S. Yoga in 2008 where she primarily teaches Ashtanga yoga, but the studio offers several different types. Gulia has studied under Srivatsa Ramaswami, Edward Clark, and Manju Jois, David Swenson, Kino Macgregor and Clayton Horton to name a few. “The Complete Book of Vinyasa Yoga,” written by Srivatsa Ramaswami, is Gulia’s “Bible,” and like Ramaswami, she follows the Krishnamacharya lineage. Gulia’s classes are challenging mentally and physically to students of all levels, incorporating asanas, breathing and meditation. Gulia believes that students should constantly challenge themselves. “Your practice should always consist of stuff you can’t do, because if you could do it, you wouldn’t need practice,” she says.
